Yup, it’s true. I already have a New Year’s Resolution.
Wanna hear it?
My New Year’s Resolution is to stop reading self-help books. Stop downloading everyone’s free e-book. Don’t sign up for anymore 21-day courses in Manifestation. Creativity. Finding my Passion. Building My Business. Growing My List.
I don’t even have a freakin’ business…or list. (Yet. I mean, first things first.)
I already know my passion.
I am already creative – we all are. (yes, even YOU. It’s innate in each of us, like goodness or compassion or love. Some of us need to dig deeper, and longer, but IT. IS. THERE.)
I already believe in manifestation. I’ve done it. It’s how I met my sweetie. How we got this house. How I left my full-time job for a part-time job that gives me more time to write and still make the same amount of money. I will continue my manifestation practice because it works.
Here’s the thing: I don’t need to read any more about it. I know what to do, and that is:
[WARNING: expletive ahead]
Just FUCKING do it.
It’s that simple.
Look, I know there are a lot of us out there with advice, ideas, stories of this, that and the other. There are e-books, courses, classes, retreats, podcasts, programs, masterclasses, yada, yada, yada.
Some of them are awesome – I contribute to the noise by sharing some of them here. I love many of them. I find value in many of them. I participate in some of them.
Some of my best friends are life coaches. 😉
But there comes a point in life when, guess what?, YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO.
You just need to FUCKING DO IT.
That’s where I am. I suspect some of you are there too.
Quit thinking the next book, course, guru, diet, meditation, deck of cards, or session is going to do it for you.
You want to sing? THEN SING.
You want to be a writer? THEN WRITE.
You want to travel? MAKE IT HAPPEN.
We really do know what to do. We are just afraid – for any myriad of reasons, both valid and invalid – and that is OK. We can be afraid. But guess what?
We get to choose between love and fear.
Here’s the important bit: This is a life or death decision.
Really. I am not exaggerating.
Either you make your decisions from a place of love, or a place of fear.
Either you say YES or you say no.
You know what I say.
I say YES.
