Hello! Welcome to your weekly dose of sweet goodness from around the web, podcast-land, and IRL (that’s “In Real Life” in case you were wondering…It’s also my new fave thing to say IRL. It’s like a reality riddle.)
This week I got a good dose of French stuff, which, you should know, j’adore!
You may not know this but I am a true bleu francophile and even started a blog for my love of all things francaise, dreams in french. Sadly, it has been neglected lately because of the day job, and this blog, and book two of the Crime series, and all that other stuff.
However, when I get catalogs like this in the mail…my french juices get flowing!
I may need to try out some of their goodies and let my fellow French lovers know how they are. I’ll keep you posted.
Keeping on the French theme, I recently became familiar with Tonya Leigh and her site French Kiss Life. I have listened to a couple interviews with her and I am intrigued. But it was this podcast, How to go from Self Obession to Truly Living, that resonated with me this week.
One of her points is “Self-Help is wonderful. Until it’s not.”
Right?!?! She and I are alike in that we both have had (or have. cough. ahem.) a bookshelf filled with self-help books that hope to help me “find and follow my passion” or “live with intent”, or “find my groove at home and work” while becoming “the woman I am meant to be” all while “attracting more of what I want and less of what I don’t”.
Listen to her podcast. Tell me what you think. Does this episode resonate with you the way it does with me? Let me know in the comments. I may contact you for a “break the self-help addiction” group. Ha! I am kidding…kinda.
Finally, this happened IRL (this is a quiz to see if you are paying attention. if not, see above.)
A lovely hike into the 402 acre gem that is the Byrne-Milliron Forest.
How lucky am I to be able to drive just a few minutes to go on a hike with my sister and my kidney (well, technically it is hers now, since I gave it to her 2 years ago) and enjoy this incredible view of the Pajaro Valley and the Pacific Ocean. #blessed
Hope you are having a fantastic week and take a moment to thank a Veteran today!
