I don’t know if you knew this, but every once in a while, when I hear something juicy and inspiring, or if I need an extra kick in the pants (like, when don’t I, really?) I will create a little meme and share it on my social media.
Something like this quote by one of my #alltimefavorite poets, Hafiz:
If you are not familiar with Hafiz you really ought to be. He is an amazing Sufi poet from the 12th century.
I highly recommend this book to start your love affair with Hafiz.
If you like him, be sure to acquaint yourself with Rumi here, and many other fine mystic poets (including some phenomenal women) here. Everytime I read a poem from the 11th or 12th century that resonates with me I am blown away by the commonality of the human experience and the timelessness of poetry.
This was posted after someone close to me questioned my plan for writing greatness and sustainability and how I was working it. I felt strong in my response for once, which felt good!
I created this one when I needed a reminder:
This one is one of my favorites. It’s my mantra. Maybe it will be yours, too.
